About st-01.link ================ This is a permanent repository for the ST-XX soundtracker files. I intend to have this up as long as my Web host is alive and I'm around to fund the site. How to Use ST-XX Sounds ======================= I pre-rendered the most iconic pack, `ST-01`, as WAVs. You can get that in the [ST-01_WAV] folder and ZIP. You can use that directly in your digital audio workstation of choice! Want to use sounds from other `ST-XX` packs in a modern DAW? They're raw sound data in 8 bit Signed Mono format. You can use a program like ModPlug Tracker or Audacity to import raw audio and save it out as a WAV. I believe this is even possible in batches in Audacity. Keep in mind that some of these may be in old, forgotten and exotic sound formats, which might do things like define loop points. Why? ==== This is here because there are only a couple of SoundTracker disk mirrors left. They're so small by modern stosrage standards, so it'd be a shame if the world lost track of all of them. The Amiga SoundTracker style has been a major influence for me and I've enjoyed countless MODs made possible by its unique combination of sounds. If YOU want some MODs that were made back in the day with the SoundTracker music disks, go to modarchive.org. If you just want to learn about SoundTracker and other music trackers, hit up Wikipedia for "Tracker (music)". _It's historic!_ Who? ==== If you want to get in touch, shoot me an email: `cjamzx` followed by `@gmail.com`. Odds are that if gmail still exists, I still have the full set of SoundTracker files. Thanks for aminet.net for providing the initial mirror for these files. This can be considered a "backup mirror."
